# Get Text

Gets text from SAP GUI.

This activity retrieves text from a user-specified element on the SAP GUI.

### Input

* **Element Id:** [`String Argument`](/getting-started/rpa-studio/arguments.md#types-of-arguments) <mark style="color:red;">`Required`</mark>\
  Specifies the id of the SAP GUI element from which the text is to be retrieved.

### Output

* **Output Text:** [`String Variable`](/getting-started/rpa-studio/variables/user-defined-variables-1.md#string)\
  Specifies the text retrieved from the given element.
